No Dig Garden the First workshop announced for the community garden

We are pleased to announce that the groundwork for the community garden has officially commenced.

With the help of Snowy Valleys Council the greenhouse has been erected.  Groundwork’s have been finalised and supplies have are being collected for our first official workshop.

Tumba Bikes and Blooms will be running a workshop on how to build a no dig garden.  $20 covers membership and insurance to the Tumbarumba Garden club, free for members.  Bring a plate to share for communal lunch.  Wheelbarrows, shovels and tools to help with the garden beds.  10-4 Saturday 14th September 2024.  Once the beds have settled planting will commence with another workshop early October TBA.

The Harvest Haven Community Garden is a new initiative, in collaboration with St Jude’s Anglican Church Tumbarumba and the Tumbarumba & District Garden Club Inc, aims to create a space that fosters sustainable living, community connection, and education about gardening. The garden seeks to promote food security, environmental stewardship, and well-being.

The gardens will be located on the grounds of the

St Jude’s Anglican Church 58 Murray St Tumbarumba NSW 2653.

We need your help to establish the gardens with donations and supplies.

Calling for donations and supplies. For this workshop we are looking for straw, sheep/cow manure, leaves, newspapers/cardboard.
